Clark County Recent Arrest Sources
Clark County publishes no online list of new jail bookings. The Clark County Sheriff's Office lists no roster, booking feed, or search form, and the Idaho Sheriffs' Association jail directory names Clark County Jail but gives it no website. That gap changes the lookup method. It does not mean nobody has been arrested. It just means the record sits with the custodian, not on a web page.
So work the phones and the paperwork. For present custody, call the sheriff at 208-374-5403. For a durable booking record, use the county request form. For the case that follows, use Idaho iCourt. Arrest, booking, a VINE transmission, a court filing, and a records response are separate events, and none carries a verified Clark County web-posting deadline.
| Time window | Verified county result | Best route |
|---|---|---|
| Same day or 24 to 48 hours | No public county feed, fields, photos, or posting time found | Arrests Last 24 Hours explains the current-custody fallback |
| Several days or a week | No county blotter, archive, or rollover pattern found | Police Blotter maps official records and selected news |
| Ongoing custody alerts | Statewide VINE framework exists; Clark record visibility was not confirmed | VINELink Custody Check |
| Historical booking | A county-held record may exist without ever appearing online | Submit the official Clark County public-record request form |
When Clark Arrest Records Appear
Nobody can say what time Clark County posts arrests, because no public posting exists. A person may be in custody before intake is even complete. A jail record can exist long before a written request gets answered. A court case appears only after the prosecutor files it. VINE depends on the agency sending the transmission. A call to the sheriff answers a current-custody question faster than any formal record. The catch is that the answer changes after release or transfer.
There is also no public bond schedule or release-time feed for Clark County. A bond figure in iCourt is just a number. It does not show the money was posted. It does not show release followed. Verify the court order through Idaho iCourt or the clerk. Verify actual custody with the sheriff. An order and a head count are different things.
Search the Clark County Jail Roster
Clark County Jail has no public roster. The facility sits at 224 West Main Street, P.O. Box 327, Dubois, ID 83423, and the sheriff and jail share one number, 208-374-5403. The Idaho Sheriffs' Association directory lists a rated capacity of eight. Average daily population runs about one. Those are reference figures, not a live count. An unofficial directory gives a conflicting capacity. That conflict is one reason a generic directory button is a poor stand-in for a real roster.
There is no results page to visit. So there is nothing to say about search fields, photo displays, refresh rates, or booking lag. The sheriff's office lists no jail app. The county portal carries general notices but nothing arrest-specific to subscribe to. A person released quickly may never appear on any public page. Yet the booking file stays with the county.
| Detail to provide | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Full name and known spelling | Distinguishes the person from similar names |
| Approximate arrest or booking date | Narrows a file search when no roster is available |
| Arresting agency, if known | Helps identify the proper record custodian |
| Record type | Separates custody status, booking sheet, photo, and incident report |
- Call 208-374-5403 for a present custody question.
- Ask whether the person is in Clark County Jail, was released, or was transferred.
- For documentation, request the booking sheet and photograph separately through the county form.
- Search iCourt for the later unsealed case and disposition.
| Custody state | What it means | Where to check |
|---|---|---|
| Booked | Intake was recorded; charges remain charges | Clark County Sheriff or booking-record request |
| Released | The person left the jail, though the booking file may remain | Sheriff for status, iCourt for conditions and case events |
| Transferred | Another county, state, federal, or immigration authority may now hold the person | Ask for the destination, then use that authority's locator |
| State correctional jurisdiction | IDOC custody, probation, parole, or related supervision | IDOC Resident/Client Search |
Why Clark Arrest Lookup Differs
Clark County counted 790 residents in the 2020 Census. Planning sources call it rural, with just two incorporated cities, Dubois and Spencer. The sheriff handles most local enforcement. Idaho State Police and Idaho Fish and Game officers also work the area. At that scale, a direct call to the custodian matters more than an automated jail feed ever would. The county's size explains the method. It says nothing about current activity or any individual.
Place of arrest, arresting agency, jail of booking, and court jurisdiction are four separate facts. A 2023 regional story described a chase that started in Clark County. It ended with an arrest in Montana. An older state report described a stop near Dubois followed by a Clark County Jail booking. Searching only where the incident happened can miss the custody record entirely. Ask who made the arrest. Ask where the person was booked.
Does a news report confirm custody?
No. A dated report only shows what an agency said when it ran. Release, transfer, or later court action can change everything after that. Confirm current custody with the holding agency.
Where Clark Arrests Get Published
Go to official sources first, even when they publish no list. The sheriff holds local custody information. The county form reaches the records custodians. iCourt carries the later public court case. Idaho Department Correction jurisdiction is a separate matter from new county bookings. Regional news and commercial databases can supply leads, but neither proves current custody or completeness.
| Channel | Photos | Status | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clark County Sheriff | No web policy found | Official | Current jail custody and booking-file custodian |
| County public-record form | Request if maintained and releasable | Official | Booking sheet or historical record |
| Idaho iCourt | Not a mugshot gallery | Official | Unsealed case, hearings, orders, disposition |
| East Idaho News and Local News 8 | Story images may appear | Independent news | Selected incidents, never a full blotter |
| Mugshots.com Clark County page | Unofficial images may appear | Commercial, stale-prone | Secondary lead only; confirm with sheriff and court |
Clark County is missing from RecentlyBooked's Idaho list. It is missing from the Arrests.org county menu too. The Mugshots.zone source capture shows that same third-party absence, not any official county record.
The capture is a reference to the source landscape only. It shows no Clark County custody, and no faces or records are reproduced here.
Clark County Arrests by City
Clark County contains just two incorporated cities. Dubois holds the county seat, along with the jail and the courthouse. Sheriff deputies lead enforcement there under a city law-enforcement contract. No separate Dubois police arrest log exists. An arrest in Dubois gets booked at the county jail. Dubois Recent Arrests traces the city-to-county booking path. Spencer works the same way. The city posts no police roster, booking-photo page, or daily bulletin of its own. A Spencer arrest still gets booked at Clark County Jail in Dubois. Spencer Recent Arrests details that route. A highway or conservation encounter can pull in another agency, though.
The U.S. Census Bureau incorporated-place table anchors the city list.
This official table supports the two-city structure; it is not an arrest list.
Inside a Clark Arrest Record
Clark County offers no public results screen for bookings. Use these fields as a request checklist. A booking record can list the arrest time separately from the intake time. The booking number stays distinct. It matches neither the court case number nor an IDOC number. Holds may arrive from another county, the state, a federal agency, immigration, or a supervision authority, and one can delay release without creating a new Clark County charge.
| Field | What to verify |
|---|---|
| Name and booking identifier | Name as entered by the jail and identifier for that event |
| Arrest and booking dates | Separate custody time from completed intake |
| Arresting agency and location | Do not label every event a sheriff arrest |
| Charges and statute codes | Charges recorded at intake; compare with filed court charges |
| Bond or release conditions | Court or jail entry, not proof of release or guilt |
| Hold or detainer | Another authority may control continued custody |
| Court, case, and hearing date | Confirm in the matching iCourt case |
| Release or transfer | Destination and time, if maintained and public |
| Booking photograph | Ask whether it exists and is releasable |
A disposition is what the court later decides: dismissal, acquittal, plea, or judgment. No booking field can tell you that.
Clark Arrest Mugshots and Photos
Clark County posts no official online gallery of booking photos, and it publishes no photo-release policy. That gap proves little. An image may still exist in the county's file. When you request one, write "booking photograph, if maintained and releasable" as its own line on the county form. If staff withhold it, ask for the statute or policy they relied on. Ask for any segregable public portions too. A commercial copy of a mugshot tells you nothing about county practice.
Idaho law has no blanket rule requiring every booking photo to be published. It has no statewide anti-pay-to-remove statute either. H.B. 620 proposed one in 2022 and failed. So it never became law. Juvenile records, sealed files, victim details, medical facts, active investigations, and security information may all be withheld or redacted under the applicable rules.
The Idaho Department of Correction Resident/Client Search works differently. It finds people under IDOC jurisdiction by name or IDOC number, updates daily, and may show a profile image. It is not a fresh Clark County booking search. It can lag a person's current location or status.
Can a photo prove the charge?
A booking image shows that a photo was made at intake. Nothing more.
Request Clark County Arrest Records
The official Clark County Public Record Request form wants your contact information, a description of the records, the number of copies, your signature, and the date. Describe the person precisely. Include the approximate arrest and booking date, the arresting agency if you know it, and the booking number if you have one. Mention the booking sheet. State your delivery format. Put the photograph on its own line, and ask for non-exempt portions in case part of a file is redacted.
- Write “public records request” and give a focused person and date range.
- List the booking sheet and booking photograph as separate records.
- Ask for electronic delivery and an estimate before chargeable work.
- Keep the submitted form, delivery proof, response, invoice, and denial notice.
- If denied, ask for the specific Idaho Code authority and review instructions.
The form promises a reply, not a photo. A county representative will contact you within three working days, and the form lists 208-374-5304 for questions. Three days is just the contact window. Fees run on their own schedule: fewer than 100 copies are free, then $0.10 per page, $1.00 per recorded document, and labor after two free hours. Confirm before costs pile up. Ask how those fee lines apply to a digital booking image or a staff search.
Idaho Arrest Records and Removal
Idaho Code Title 74, Chapter 1 presumes records are open unless an exemption applies. Section 74-102 allows a focused written request. That means a subject, a date range, and contact information. Section 74-103 sets the response framework. It starts with a three-working-day decision for residents, or notice when more time is needed. Nothing in the law forces Clark County to build a web roster or gallery. It governs records the agency actually holds.
Removal works in four layers. First, ask the agency that holds the record. Ask it to correct or restrict the record where law allows. Second, look at expungement through Idaho State Police BCI. A petition under the Clean Slate Act is another route. Shielding blocks public access. It does not destroy the record. Third, send court orders or corrections straight through a publisher's free policy. Fourth, Google's Remove Outdated Content tool can clear a stale search result after a source changes or vanishes. It cannot delete an active source.
RecentlyBooked runs a free correction and removal policy. Mugshots.com carries a Clark County section and states a free maintenance or removal route. Both are publisher policies. Neither is Idaho law. Paying an intermediary changes no legal outcome. Keep the court order, the agency response, the publisher confirmation, and the result URL instead.
Older Clark Arrest Files
Idaho Code §31-871 sorts county records into permanent, semipermanent, and temporary classes. Minimum retention runs at least ten, five, or two years. Law-enforcement media recordings get their own periods. Those media rules do not govern every booking sheet or booking photograph. Clark County publishes no schedule for booking files. Ask the records custodian. Classification, legal holds, transfer, and destruction status are all custodian questions.
Older Clark arrest files call for a set route. Start with the sheriff, then move to the courthouse for case files. The Idaho State Archives keeps records from county sheriffs, courts, cities, and other bodies, plus newspaper microfilm. No digitized Clark County mugshot collection is listed, so ask the Archives whether a relevant Clark collection was ever transferred before making the trip.
Archive access is a historical fallback, not a substitute for current jail custody confirmation.
Clark Arrest Warrants and Wanted Lists
Clark County posts no online warrant list. The sheriff runs no warrant-search portal, most-wanted page, tip portal, reward program, or recurring social feature. A Clark County in another state will muddy the search. For warrant records, start with iCourt Smart Search. Look for the matching unsealed case and its event history. Public visibility turns on warrant and case status. A blank result cannot prove that no warrant exists.
Confirm directly by phone. The Clark County court can be reached at 208-374-5402, and the sheriff at 208-374-5403. If a warrant may involve the person searching, the court or an attorney is the lawful route, never a personal confrontation. Call 911 for immediate danger. For anything less urgent, use a verified non-emergency agency route, and treat iCourt as the public starting point for case and warrant-event records.
The portal may surface public case events, but only the court or sheriff can confirm whether a warrant stands.
After a Clark County Arrest
Idaho Criminal Rule 5 sets a firm clock. An arrested defendant goes before a magistrate without unreasonable delay. The cap is 24 hours, not counting weekends and holidays. At that first appearance the magistrate covers probable cause, rights, and bail. From there, a Clark County case can move forward in stages. It may include preliminary hearings, amended filings, and release conditions. Later come pleas, trial, dismissal, or judgment.
Clark County District Court sits at 224 West Main, P.O. Box 205, Dubois, ID 83423. Its number is 208-374-5402. That line is separate from the sheriff's 208-374-5403 number and the public-record form's 208-374-5304 contact. On iCourt, search by party or case number. Pick Clark County, and set a useful date range. Open the matching docket itself rather than trusting a snippet. Sealed matters and exempt data stay out of view.
Custody Beyond Clark County
Custody often does not end at the county jail. A sentenced person, probationer, or parolee under state jurisdiction can show up in the Idaho Department of Correction search after the county booking stage. Federal cases run on different systems. The Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator tracks federal inmates from 1982 forward, though it offers no public mugshot gallery. A federal pretrial detainee held by the U.S. Marshals Service may not appear there yet.
Immigration detention is separate again. ICE's Online Detainee Locator covers certain ICE records. You can search it with an A-number plus country of birth, or with exact biographical details. It excludes anyone under 18. Idaho VINE adds a custody-notification layer on top. None of these tools proves a Clark County arrest, booking, or continued hold. Match the locator to whichever agency actually holds the person.
